True Green’s name comes from medieval nun Hildegard of Bingen’s idea of viriditas, and also a lawn care company. Their debut, My Lost Decade, came out in 2024 on Spacecase Records, and since then they’ve been featured on The Best Show with Tom Scharpling, The Current, and Triple J, as well as named a Minnesota artist-to-watch by Racket. Minneapolis-based songwriter Dan Hornsby is a novelist, too (his debut, Via Negativa, is currently being adapted into a film with actor Lee Pace attached) and these two new songs play with overlapping themes from his books. “Consider the Priesthood” and “Falconry” explore sinister callings and abuse of power, with a darker palette than the debut record.
