Genre Is Death
Attractive People LP

Genre Is Deathis an uncompromising noise duo made up of Ty V (guitar, vox) and Tayler Lee (bass, vox). Their sound is abrasive yet melodic, using heavy distortion, dissonant riffs, and reverberating vocals to create a wave of boldly hypnotic noise. The duo have been compared to the likes of Sonic Youth, Pussy Galore and Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, yet have managed to create a sound that is distinctly their own, avoiding mimicking the zeitgeist of decades before. Beyond the integrity of their music, Tayler’s intimidating glare, or Ty’s staggering gait, the duo share something truly inimitable— the overwhelming feeling that their music is a byproduct of the high esteem they hold of each other. Limited color vinyl.

Memo PST
Eternal Actors LP

LA Punks Memo PST return with another modern punk classic Eternal Actors, their new album out this April on In The Red.  These 12 tracks capture the fury of late '70s rough and raw punk rock, with Orville Neeley crafting hit after hit of god-tier punk bangers. Vocalist Chris Shaw is also at his most versatile to date, with his lyrical capabilities and patented punk snears dripping across every song. Simply put, Eternal Actors finds two lords of the punk genre at their very best. There are classic punk bashers like “Dog Groomer Stylist,” and “Doomed to Repeat” but also primitive, bare-bones rock rippers like “Chrome Bubble” and Worship Me.” The band also delivers some of their most hardcore songs to date with “Concrete Club” and “Blown Away.”

With the San Clemente wrecking crew of Jackson Todd (drums) and Emmanuel Koulouris (bass) back again to round out the four piece band, this is truly a powerhouse presentation of punk music in 2026. If the band proved they were a punk force with their long sold out, self titled album, Eternal Actors may solidify their place at the top of the punk pile. Primitive Ring
s/t LP

PRIMITIVE RING consists of Bert Hoover (bass/vocals), Charles Moothart (guitar/vocals), and Jon Modaff (drums). The Los Angeles power trio formed in September 2024 when Hoover and Moothart came together seeking a new creative outlet. In 2025, the band released four 7"s on four different labels (Greenway, In the Red, Reverberation Appreciation Society, and Fuzz Club UK). They hauled amps and drums into bars to hone the sound of the newfound brotherhood that is Primitive Ring. Rock and roll is in its essence a primal experience, and the name reflects that. Three individuals collide and egos rattle, shedding layers and growing new limbs. Archetypes flash to the rhythm of a freight train and the crown is passed hand to hand like a good luck charm, symbolic and communal. Rock and roll is for the people and Primitive Ring is for the taking.

Primitive Ring is 11 tracks coming in just under 42 minutes. It was recorded by Mark Rains in December of 2025 at The Station House in Echo Park. The album is the genesis story of a lightning bolt flashing in the eternal drama of creation and destruction. The album showcases the distinct writing styles of each member, but the overall aesthetic is a woven tapestry demarcating the timeless meridian. The record is the spawning of a collective vision. This is something we all share, and we must remind one another how electric humanity can be. Limited color vinyl.

The Scientists
The Definite Article double LP

The Definite Article captures Australian rock legends The Scientists recorded live at The Triffid in Brisbane on November 4, 2017. The recording captures the band at their loud, noisy best, running through 20 songs from their catalog. The recording and the performance are so good the band released the recording on cassette on Emmett Kelley’s Ha Ha label. The tapes were sold at shows and vanished quickly. In The Red is proud to present this fantastic live show on vinyl. A must for true heads.

True Green
Hail Disaster LP

Hail Disaster, the second album from Minneapolis-based band True Green, is a darker, warmer follow up to their 2024 lofi debut My Lost Decade. Songwriter Dan Hornsby is also a novelist (his book Via Negativa is being adapted into a film starring Young Mazino) and he brings his knack for storytelling to these songs, exploring tragedies real and imagined, ranging from family cruelty (“Italian Lightning”), to the dark side of fandom (“Beatlemania”), doomed love (“Hamlet + Juliet”), and the death of Hornsby’s uncle from AIDS (“Terry’s Parrot”). “The first half of your life is Tetris, the second half is Jenga,” Hornsby sings, summing up the record’s themes on “Bodysurfing.” Multi-instrumental ringer Tailer Ransom plays organ, banjo, synthesizers, concertina, and the occasional guitar, lending a poignant, bittersweet frame to Hornsby’s lyrics. In the liner notes, novelist and critic Justin Taylor says: “Dan’s vocals are mellow as ever, but the wisdom he’s sharing (also the jokes, stories, visions, and love) feels hard-won, wrested from the quenchless jaws of the disaster that his title hails.

”Hail Disaster" was mixed and mastered by Matt Castore (Condominium, Scrunchies) at Soft Cult Studio, with additional tape mastering by Matt Qualls at Easley McCain Recording.
